Welcome to ShortTracker! We collate data on short positions in UK listed companies and publish it on our website, enabling all investors to get a consolidated view of current and historical short positions in the companies and by the managers they're interested in. All the data is sourced directly from the FCA, which in turn collects it from the fund managers themselves pursuant to their regulatory obligations. There is no element of subjectivity, these are actual positions reported to the regulator.
ShortTracker's users include institutional investors, investment banks, wealth managers, stockbrokers, corporate financiers, journalists, accountants, auditors and of course a wide array of private investors. If you'd like more information, please get in touch with us anytime
The site was developed as a side project by staff of Castellain Capital, a boutique investment manager.
The Short Selling Regulations were introduced on 1 November 2012. More detail about the regulations, including disclosure thresholds, are available on the FCA website.
When a fund manager discloses a position of less than 0.5% in a company, we now remove them from the current disclosures section and from the total short position. This is because there is no further obligation on them to disclose their positions in that company. We will continue to show all disclosures in the previous disclosures section.
Castellain Capital LLP is a boutique investment manager with a value investment style and a focus on asset-backed companies and high-yield securities.
